Alumni Profile: Catherine Bodnar

Catherine Bodnar, QRC Hospitality Management graduate, returns to Queenstown to take on a management position at Crowne Plaza.

At just 25, Catherine will take on the role of Food and Beverage Services Manager at one of Queenstown’s premier lakefront properties.

Her new role sees her managing day-to-day food and beverage operations, banquets for the conference and incentive market, and overseeing 20 staff.

“Coming back to Queenstown is like coming home for me,” Catherine says. “I’m looking forward to working collaboratively with my team to drive results and deliver exceptional guest experiences.”

Catherine’s passion for Queenstown and the industry has been welcomed by Crowne Plaza Queenstown’s acting general manager Sam Swaffield.

“Catherine’s enthusiasm is second to none and we look forward to supporting her in her first senior management role. At just 25 she’s already got a huge range of experience under her belt.”

After graduating from QRC, Catherine was accepted into the IHG Future Leader Programme and has worked across multiple properties including InterContinental Wellington, Crowne Plaza Auckland and Holiday Inn Auckland Airport.

Catherine excelled in the fast-paced food and beverage department working as both a Banquets Operations Manager and the Restaurant and Bar Manager before being promoted to her new position at Crowne Plaza Queenstown.
