Ollie has always had an interest in computers, technology and gaming. A former Whakatipu High School student, he sat down with us and gave us the low down on how the first 4-weeks of the course has gone and where he hopes to head to next.
Why did you choose Machine Learning?
Machine Learning is in high demand, and I have always been interested in technology, coding, gaming and the processes behind all things machine learning. My goal is to get into the tech industry and scene, ultimately Game Design. I’ve already learnt so much, and it has been easy to learn along side a tutor.
How has the course been so far?
Four weeks in and 12-weeks to go, I am working while studying and the course load has been manageable. I have learnt a lot so far and look forward to what is to come. A lot of what we do consists of being given a data set which we run code on that helps to analyse the data. From that we can begin to make predictions and gain future insight into the data. With classes running 8.30am-12.45pm Pradeesh (the tutor) makes studying easy and he is so good at explaining things in simpler terms if we are struggling.
