Office views like no other!

JaeYoung is excited to be completing his 9-month internship with Skyline Queenstown in their Food and beverage department! Working with these views everyday and with customers from all over the globe, he’s enjoying every minute of it. Check out what JaeYoung has to say about his  internship so far.

Where are you completing your internship?

Skyline Queenstown in the Market Kitchen as a Food and Beverage Attendant.

What are you main responsibilities?

Taking orders on the till for food and coffee, clearing tables, delivering customers food and restocking products such as the drinks and sauces.

What is your favourite part about internship so far?

My favourite thing so far is enjoying the amazing views of Queenstown at the top of Skyline while I’m working.

What has been a challenge for you so far?

My biggest challenge on internship has been helping customers who can’t speak English as it causes a communication barrier. I do my best to solve this issue by asking my teammates if they speak the customer’s language or if they speak Korean  I can help them.

What advice would you give the term 2’s about to head off on internship?

Some tips I would give to the term 2 students are that when they start applying, consider all of your options, so that you have a wider view of where you might do your internship. Also when students don’t get the position they applied for and wanted it’s important to remember that and it could be because when one door closes another door is opened for a reason.

How did the internship team help with your internship?

Adam and KP from the internship team were a great help as they helped to write effective CV’s and taught me how to be professional at a job interview. KP helped me get  the position at Skyline by contacting HR which was very supportive.
