Kia ora koutou,
2023 has been a massive year for our QRC Student Council and we’d like to share some key highlights:
- Internships are taking off! We are stoked to see so many members of our student body jetting off to international locations like Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. Keen to read more about where in the world our interns are and what they’re doing? Check out some of their stories here.
- This year, we have encouraged community and the study/life balance more than ever with student council coordinated events such as Sports Day and Student Social Nights. We have also seen successful extra-curricular activities with students organising a Heels Dance Class and forming a Social Hockey team that meets each week. With the opportunity to grow this even more and continue creating community spirit across the student body in 2024, your interests are welcomed at QRC.
- Within the wider community, we were excited to raise money for different charities, decided on by the Student Council, for our non-uniform days. This year we raised money for notable charities and initiatives like Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Movember, and Happiness House Queenstown, among others.
- The Student Council was tasked with promoting the QRC Values to show what we’re all about as a student body! As we were on the lookout for different ways to do this, we jumped on a recent TikTok trend. Check it out here.
The entire QRC Student Council wishes everyone a Happy Holidays, a safe summer, and an even better 2024!
Ngā mihi nui,
Angel Patterson – Student Council President
