The programme has been designed to foster and develop emerging leaders who are empowered to provide input into the processes and direction of an organisation by understanding  the elements of business and the harnessing of soft skills to enable them to successfully lead and motivate team members.

Effective leadership and high performing teams are critical elements that support success in organisations. The QRC Certificate in Leadership & Performance will equip graduates with the appropriate skills, knowledge, and tools to effectively deal with pressure and positively assist in managing workflow. The programme provides a clear framework to analyse situations to improve performance and team motivation within an organisation.

Career Opportunities & Pathways

Graduates in the QRC Certificate in Leadership & Performance may be employed in management roles such as a first line manager in a in a variety of business, cultural or community contexts (retail, sports coaching, community projects).

Graduates will also be able to progress onto further study and gain entry into QRC’s Diploma in Hospitality Management (Level 6) or Adventure Tourism Management (Level 6).

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for entry, applicants must have met the following requirements:

  • Be 17 years of age at course commencement
  • Completion of NCEA Level 2 or equivalent

Applicants not meeting the entry criteria may be considered on a case by case basis by the Academic Director. Consideration will be given to those with prior work experience and life skills experience.

International Students

If English is a second language an IELTS score of at least 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0, or an equivalent as per NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2018.

All applications are interviewed as part of the admission process.

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees are subject to annual increases and the current fees are for applications received prior to 31st October 2023.
