Our NZQA-approved Micro-Credential is designed to foster resilience among employees within the tourism and hospitality sector and equip you with the tools to handle specific internal and external challenges. It aims to provide you with strategies to build a resilient culture that acknowledges and respects cultural differences, fosters a sense of belonging, and provide the skills you’ll need to navigate the unique challenges of the industry.

On completion of this course, you’ll be able to identify and understand internal and external challenges that occur within the services sector in Aotearoa and be able to apply strategies to promote your individual resilience.

What is the format of this course?

This course uses blended learning.

  • Compulsory 1-day in-person workshop, held on the first two days of your course (please note this workshop does not include accommodation or transport).
  • Followed by 6-weeks of online learning with tutor check-ins.

You will be assessed via weekly quizzes and an e-workbook relating to the course content.

How long is this course?
  • 6-weeks.
Is this course 100% online learning?

No – there is a 1-day in-person workshop.

Research has shown that blended delivery yields the best student outcome and learning outcome.
The in-person workshop will be held at the start of your course and is compulsory.

What’s the time commitment?
  • It is recommended that learners allocate 8-9 hours per week of study to the course
  • 5-6 hours of online learning and 3 hours of self-directed learning
  • The online lectures are recorded, allowing students to listen at their convenience
  • There will be a weekly tutorial session where students can check in and ask questions about coursework or assignments

  • There is a weekly check in with the teaching team should you need help and forums to ask your questions.

Will I receive a certification when I finish my course?

Grow Tourism – Elevate offers a range of courses that will give you NZQA-recognised micro credentials.
Micro credentials are small, stand-alone certifications accredited by NZQA and are a formal way of recognising your skills and knowledge in particular areas that employers are looking for.

Can I complete this course while working full time?

Yes. This is an online course, however there is a 1-day compulsory in-person workshop at the start of your course.
