QRC Working With Industry to Train and Retain Staff

A group of 20 tourism professionals commenced their Leadership and Performance studies today as a part of a joint initiative between Queenstown Resort College the Ministry of Social Development and Queenstown Chamber of Commerce.

The pilot programme is aimed at upskilling those working in the tourism and hospitality industry in Queenstown, Te Anau and the Mackenzie District who have been identified by their employers as future leaders within their respective organisations. It will cover communication, motivational leadership, wellbeing and diversity, performance under pressure and operational management

The 26-week course is designed to equip graduates with the appropriate skills, knowledge, and tools to effectively deal with pressure and positively assist in managing workflow within an organisation. It provides a clear framework for participants to analyse situations to improve performance and team motivation within an organisation.
